Check the store before confirming payment

Store and Account Region

The country or region associated with your Apple ID determines which store you see. Shadowrocket isn't available in the mainland China App Store.

The button at the top of this page links to Shadowrocket's App Store product page. The app ID is 932747118. The US storefront path in the link identifies the same product; it doesn't change your account region. Being able to view the product page in a browser doesn't guarantee that your signed-in account can purchase it. Check the product details, purchase button and prompts shown in the App Store on your device.

If search returns no results, check the account used for Media & Purchases instead of trying different search terms. Different Apple services on one device may use different accounts, so the name at the top of Settings alone doesn't confirm which store account is active. Open the account used for App Store purchases and verify the signed-in Apple ID and its country or region. Then check whether the product is available in that storefront.

How to check your country or region

  1. Open Settings on your device and tap your name at the top to open your Apple ID settings.
  2. Tap Media & Purchases, then follow the prompts to view your account.
  3. Tap Country/Region to see the currently selected region.
  4. To check whether you can change it, review the available options and instructions on that page.

These steps show where to view and access region settings; they don't guarantee that a purchase will succeed. Menu labels can vary with device language and system interface, so follow what's shown on your device. If changing your region involves account requirements or payment details, read Apple's instructions before deciding whether to proceed. Don't enter information that doesn't reflect your actual circumstances just to find an app.

If you can't change your region, note the message and resolve any account issues first. Changing your device language, time zone or network location doesn't change the country or region of your App Store account. Check separately whether the product page opens, the app is available in your current storefront, and your account can make a payment. This helps distinguish account issues from installation problems.

Verify all three details

Verify the Official Shadowrocket App

Use the name to find the app, then verify the developer, official icon and app ID.

Shadowrocket is sometimes referred to by a Chinese nickname, but its official product name is Shadowrocket. Search results may include apps with similar names or icons. A partial name, keywords in a description or search ranking can't confirm that an app is the right one. Open the product page and check all three details; they should match.

Developer

Check the full name

The developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Check the developer field on the product page; don't mistake a name mentioned in the app description for the listed developer.

Official Icon

Rocket with a blue-purple outline on a white background

Compare it with the official icon in this site's header. The icon is one identifying detail, not a substitute for checking the developer and app ID. A similar color or graphic doesn't mean it's the same app.

App ID

932747118

The product link should end in id932747118. The app ID identifies the product; it's not an account, order or device number.

To verify the app, open its product page using the main button on this page, check the developer and icon, then confirm the app ID in the link. Don't compare only prices across similarly named apps before paying. If any detail doesn't match, go back and verify the product before relying on its information.

After verifying the app, review the App Store listing for compatibility, pricing and purchase details. App verification answers whether you've found the right product; compatibility tells you whether it can be installed on your device; payment status determines whether your account can buy it. Check each separately. This is the official Shadowrocket website and guide, covering the purchase and installation process for this product.

Configure your connection after purchase

Install and Open Shadowrocket on iPhone

Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements. Check compatibility before confirming your purchase.

On your iPhone, open the correct product page and check the signed-in account, price and compatibility. Follow the App Store prompts to authorize your purchase. Wait for installation to finish, then open Shadowrocket from the Home Screen. Opening the app and establishing a connection are separate steps: seeing the Home screen means the client is open, not that you have server details ready to use.

Before connecting, have your own subscription or server details ready. If you have a subscription, follow the Getting Started guide to import it with Subscribe. To enter individual server details, start with Add Server. After importing, check that the expected entries appear, then select a server and choose Global Routing. Don't just turn on the connection without checking the imported details and routing mode.

System Authorization on First Connection

The first time you start a connection, your device may ask to add a VPN configuration. This is a system authorization prompt for the network connection configuration. Make sure the request comes from Shadowrocket, which you just opened, and review the prompt before approving it. If device verification is required, follow your device's process. Authorization doesn't confirm that a server is available; test it with an actual request.

If you don't yet have your own subscription or server details, you can first explore Home, Config, Data and Settings without trying to connect. Purchasing the app gives you the right to use the client. The servers, validity period and access available to you depend on your existing service. See the Getting Started guide for importing, connecting and testing; this page doesn't cover configuration parameters.

If installation stalls, check the specific App Store message first. Check storage, account verification, network connection and device compatibility separately. There's no need to change Shadowrocket rules before installation is complete. If you've paid but the button looks wrong, check your purchase history and then look under Purchased before trying the same purchase again.

One purchase record; check configuration on each device

iPad and Other Apple Devices

Available for iPhone and iPad. Check the App Store listing for device requirements and purchase eligibility.

If you bought Shadowrocket on iPhone, you can use the same Apple ID on iPad to find and install the same app from Purchased in the App Store. Check the account used for Media & Purchases; seeing the same name on both devices isn't enough. If the price appears again, check the account, purchase history and app ID before confirming payment.

An iPad has a different screen size from an iPhone, so lists, details and navigation may be arranged differently. Use interface labels such as Home, Config, Data, Settings and Add Server to find features instead of copying button positions from another device. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements, and follow the layout shown on your device.

Being able to use the app on both devices doesn't mean their configurations are the same. After installation, check separately on each device that your subscription is imported, the right server is selected, the correct Global Routing mode is set, and system authorization for the first connection is complete. If you restore a backup, verify important settings afterward. A working connection on one device doesn't mean the other is configured.

Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision

The Compatibility section on the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision. If you plan to use Shadowrocket on one of these devices, check its entry. Refer to the listing for universal purchase eligibility and system requirements. Don't assume that the iPhone and iPad purchase details cover all conditions for other devices.

Open the same product in the App Store on the device you want to use, check the account and the availability shown, then follow the store prompts. Input methods and interface layouts may differ by device. The step-by-step connection instructions on this page focus on iPhone and iPad; check the relevant section of the product page for conditions that apply to other devices.

Restore purchase history and configuration separately

Switch Devices and Restore Purchases

Use the Apple ID from the original purchase to reinstall the app; restoring a recorded purchase normally doesn't require another payment.

When switching devices or reinstalling, open the App Store, go to your account, and find Shadowrocket under Purchased. Depending on your system interface, the relevant section may appear under apps or purchase history; follow what's shown. Verify the app ID and developer, then use the redownload option instead of paying as if this were a new purchase.

  1. Check that Media & Purchases is signed in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase.
  2. Search for Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased.
  3. After confirming the app details, download it again and wait for installation to finish.
  4. Open the app, import your own subscription or server details, then check the configuration and connection status.

If you can't find the purchase, first identify the account used at the time, then check the current storefront region and product availability. Being signed in to other Apple services on a new device doesn't mean the App Store purchase account is correct. If the App Store still asks you to pay, stop before confirming and check your purchase history. Use the App Store's help options for account or order issues.

Purchase history isn't a configuration backup

App Store purchase history lets you restore the app purchase; it isn't a complete backup of subscriptions, server details, rule files or settings. If your old device still works, keep your own information safe and check which configuration backup options are available. Don't erase the old device until you've confirmed your data can be restored, and don't store access credentials somewhere public.

After reinstalling, import your own details using Subscribe or Add Server, then check your configuration, Global Routing and selected server. A backup may contain outdated addresses or settings, even if it can be read. Review it before testing the connection. For guidance on organizing and backing up server details, see the Subscription and Server Management Guide.

To check whether Family Sharing applies, review the App Store listing and your current family settings. It doesn't mean every purchase can be restored with any account. Follow the original purchase record and the current App Store prompts throughout the process; don't make repeated payments to test your account status.

Separate the app purchase from connection services

Price and One-Time Purchase

The US reference price is $2.99 as a one-time purchase; prices appear in local currency in other storefronts.

Shadowrocket is a paid, closed-source commercial app available as a one-time purchase, with no monthly client fee. The US reference price is $2.99; it isn't a fixed promise for every storefront or future pricing. Check the current App Store product page and payment confirmation for the actual price, currency and purchase terms.

The client reads connection parameters, handles requests according to your configuration, and provides features such as rule-based routing, configuration files and diagnostics. Server addresses, authentication details, service validity and availability depend on your existing service. Buying the app doesn't import a subscription, and successfully importing one doesn't guarantee that every server in it will connect. Verify each step in order.

Before buying, check that your existing information is complete; after purchase, follow a guide to enter it. If a subscription expires or server details change, you'll need to address the existing service or update the imported information. Buying the client again won't change server status. Likewise, if your network is unstable, distinguish local network, server and client configuration issues instead of blaming every connection failure on the purchase.

Where to check updates and purchase details

App updates are delivered through the App Store. Check for updates on your store account page, or use automatic updates in your device settings. Check the store listing for current release information and system compatibility; this page doesn't replace live details with a fixed version number. Before updating your device's system or switching devices, review the Compatibility section again and keep your configuration data safe.

Before confirming payment, check the product name, developer, app ID, account region and displayed price one last time. After purchase, continue with importing, selecting a routing mode and testing the connection. Handling purchase and configuration as separate stages makes issues easier to pinpoint and helps avoid repeating a purchase before checking your history.

Download and Purchase FAQs

These answers cover App Store purchases and installation. For connection setup, see the Getting Started guide.

Can't find Shadowrocket in the App Store? Check this first

First check the country or region for the Apple ID used with Media & Purchases. Shadowrocket isn't available in the mainland China App Store, and search results vary by account region. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Country/Region, then verify the developer and app ID on the product page.

The product page opens, but the download won't finish. What should I do?

Read the specific App Store message first. Check your account region, payment status, device compatibility, available storage and network connection separately. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements. If a purchase is already recorded, check your purchases before trying to pay again.

Do I need to buy Shadowrocket again when I get a new iPhone?

Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, then find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased and download it again. Restoring a recorded purchase normally doesn't require another payment. After reinstalling, import your own subscription or server details; purchase history doesn't back up your configuration.

I bought Shadowrocket on iPhone. Can I install it on iPad too?

Shadowrocket is available for both iPhone and iPad. Use the same Apple ID to install it from Purchased. Check the App Store listing for device requirements and purchase eligibility. Review subscriptions, server selection and configuration separately on each device; purchase history doesn't mean settings sync automatically.

How do I check compatibility with Mac, Apple TV or Apple Vision?

Check the Compatibility section on the same App Store product page for the relevant device. Refer to the listing for universal purchase eligibility, device requirements and system requirements, and check the actual availability shown in the App Store on your device.

The app opens in English. Where should I start?

Start by getting familiar with Home, Config, Data and Settings. If you already have server details, begin with Add Server. If you have a subscription, follow the Getting Started guide to use Subscribe. Interface labels remain in English for easy reference. Import your details and select a server before setting Global Routing and testing the connection.

After purchase: Follow the steps to import and connect. Need to organize an existing configuration? See the server management guide. For more help, visit Troubleshooting.
